The Acropolis Museum celebrates the 25th March with special events and free entry

On the occasion of the Greek National Holiday on Wednesday 25 March 2015, entry will be free for all visitors at the Acropolis Museum from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Museum will host the following special gallery talks:

‘Museum exhibits ‘talk’ about the historical memory in ancient Athens’
Visitors will discuss with Museum Archaeologist-Hosts how ancient Athenians approached the past, the great moments in their history and mythology.
Gallery talks for adults will take place in Greek at 10 a.m., at 1 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m., in English at 10:30 a.m. and in French respectively at 10:30 a.m. Participation is limited to 35 visitors per session on a first-in first-served basis (duration: 50 minutes).

‘The Athenians remember their history’ (for children and their parents)
With the help of the Museum’s Archaeologist-Hosts, children will look for exhibits related to the history and myths of Athens and will create their own memento.

For children 4-7 years old: 12 noon
For children 8-12 years old: 1:30 p.m. & 3 p.m.

Participation is limited to 20 children per session on a first-in first-served basis (duration: 50 minutes). This program will be held in Greek only.

On the same day, the Museum restaurant will serve a ‘Traditional Greek Meal’.

Children must be educated about this most important issue and the planned event provides an ideal opportunity for awareness to be raised.

    • The Acropolis Museum has noteworthy educational events both for adults and children all the year round. They usually offer these events in both English and Greek sometimes in other languages too. They really deserve to be praised!
